Betterclean Franchise

  Fulford School cleaners in York were looking at an uncertain future with their jobs, due to the facilities management company who employed the cleaners filed for administration. Betterclean Services York took on the contract at short notice and all the cleaners’ jobs have been transferred over and are now employed by Betterclean Services York. “Over the last two years we have focused on building a reputation of going the extra mile to help customers and in this case, we’re delighted to step in to save jobs and ensure the school was able to open after Easter.” As well as ensuring the cleaners jobs are safe, they will be paid the real living wage. “I believe by being driven by our values and focusing on staff and customer care, everything else falls into place.”  Rick Jefferson, Franchise Owner of Betterclean Services York, Harrogate and Leeds since March 2020.

Starting with the positives from today, I have just been reconciling bank accounts and seeing payments of invoices and a healthy profit, finishing the day feeling secure that business is going well, and it has been worth the hard work. The rest of the day was a whirlwind, but that is a combination of the challenges of managing large teams of people, the problems of COVID and other sickness and absence, and our own fault in being successful in winning new contracts. We are excited to have two new schools starting this summer, as well as having just being awarded the contract for a new office facility. To prepare these sites with staff, stock and to complete the admin, will bring us a busy August.   After purchasing a resale, this has put me further along the curve than new franchisees might find themselves, both in terms of customers but also in maturity of my supporting team.
